REALITY CHECK
One of the most staggering things to me about the times we live in is how detached from reality so many people are. The willful blindness, the stupidity, the twisted logic is mind boggling. In light of this, I think a strategic reality check is just what the Great Physician ordered!
When was the last time you ever witnessed a president and his administration initiate and organize an event like Rededicate 250 for a day of public prayer and worship? Do you realize this president and his key leaders (Vance, Rubio, Hegseth, Johnson, Leavitt, Wiles) have stood up courageously for Christianity, for faith in God and Jesus Christ, and for the rights of devout, religious believers more than any other president or administration in my 70 year lifetime? If as Christians we aren’t overwhelmingly grateful for this, we’re pathetic. That’s Reality.
Do you grasp how absolutely dangerous and destructive Islam really is? Do you understand the death, oppression, and destruction being wrought around the world by this wicked ideology? I will gladly suffer and pay a few extra dollars for a gallon of gas in order to destroy the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world—the vile, tyrannical Iranian, Islamic regime, and keep this terrorist, murderous regime from a nuclear weapon. Do you realize what our parents and grandparents personally sacrificed to rid the world of Nazism and Japanese Imperialism? Are we so spineless, so weak and cowardly, so in love with our own pleasure that we refuse to pay the costs to stand up to such evil and do our tiny part to support this righteous cause? That’s Reality.
Did you know that the top 10% of earners in the United States pay around 75% of all federal taxes? You could confiscate all the money from every billionaire in the country and keep the government open for about a month. Do you realize how much you’ve been lied to by the Democrats and media in this matter? The majority of Americans are incredibly fortunate to pay so little, while the wealthy pay so very much. That’s Reality.
Did you realize though there may be a spiritual revival of sorts happening right now among young people, still, the vast majority of them (62% of 18- to 29-year-olds), are flocking to socialism? Which is nothing more than stealing the hard earned money and property of others, and giving it to another group of people who didn’t earn it. It absolutely violates God’s 8th Commandment—Thou Shalt Not Steal. Socialism is not compassion—it’s thievery fueled by resentment, envy, and greed. It violates Biblical teaching, property rights, and undermines hard work and personal responsibility. So, just how genuine or deep could a “spiritual revival” be if the young are running into the arms of this filthy, demonic lie, contrary to God’s teaching? That’s Reality.
Do you know how fortunate we are to have a president who’s stood up to the environmental wackos, who’ve done all they can to wreak havoc on our economy, destroy our self-reliance and energy independence, and leave us vulnerable and susceptible to our worst enemies? Do you know how blessed we are to have an administration doing all it can to drill for all the oil we can, unleashing energy production, mining, and manufacturing, thereby ensuring our freedom, security, and economical way of life well into the future? Did you know right now, as of May 2026, in France and Germany gas is almost $9 a gallon?!? That’s Reality.
Did you know there are approximately 57 Islamic countries in the world, with a combined population of almost 2 billion people? Yet these people are so filled with hate that they want to wipe out and destroy the “one and only Jewish nation in the world—Israel”, with a population of only 10 million people, living in a space the size of New Jersey, one of the tiniest states in the US? Israel, by the way, is on the land GOD gave to the Jews. This same virulent Jew hatred has been embraced and propagated by the Democrats and progressive left in the US and is now a raging epidemic. Be not deceived—Palestinian Liberation is Jew hatred by another name. It’s the nefarious ruse to steal from the Jewish people what God gave them. That’s Reality.
I recently pulled out of a parking lot behind a woman driving an SUV with a huge “Resist” bumper sticker in her back window, denoting her progressive, leftist bona fides. I literally laughed out loud at her stupidity, duplicity, and hypocrisy. Why? Because she hadn’t resisted a thing. She was driving a brand new Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum Max Hybrid, which sells for $68,000! That’s about $1,500 a month for a car loan for 48 months. Just think—she’s paying $1,500 a month for her “privilege” to get 27 mpg! That’s Reality.
In 2000, I officiated the wedding of a young Christian couple. They confided in me they’d spent $3,000 on her wedding ring and $10,000 on their wedding. If they had taken that same $13,000 and invested it in a Roth IRA Mutual fund, as of today, at the 11.8% growth rate that’s occurred in the market over that period of time, it would be worth $236,281! Forever tax free! That’s without any additional investment of money. So tell me now—wouldn’t you rather have a $100 ring and a simple wedding and a cake, to gain $236,281 dollars now? Say it with me now—OH, HECK YEAH! That’s Reality.
