STORY OF IMPACT
As a Pastor and teacher, I can tell you from experience, there is no greater joy than when those you’re teaching actually take what you teach them, and do it. The things I’ve taught over the years, including the hundreds of articles I’ve written, are full of divine wisdom, insight and wise, godly counsel and instructions, that when put into practice in your life will bring wonderful fruit and marvelous results.
This note was sent to me in response to last week’s article, Be A Blessing. I wanted to share it with you as it illustrates the profound impact of actually doing the things I’ve taught and written about over the course of my ministry years. I hope it is a blessing to you, and a great reminder of the truth – Do not be merely hearers only who delude themselves, but be doers of the word. Then you will be blessed in what you do.
As always, my great desire is your best interests and success.

“Thanks, Pastor Mark. What a simple yet profound concept and reminder.
Early in our marriage, I remember multiple calls to this in the marriage conferences taught by none other than Pastor Mark Darling. I remember you talking about doing the little things and taking initiative for your wife. It marked me deeply.
This concept characterizes my relationship with my wife. I constantly try to build her up verbally, through a steady stream of simple notes that I leave on her desk in the mornings, by making sure she wakes up to a clean kitchen in the mornings, and by serving her as much as possible. I believe it is the key to our strong and vibrant marriage and our solid intimate relationship. I’ve been intentional to model this for our children. Now, I see our son being that kind of husband to his wife. I love it and I am so thankful.
Thanks for calling us to do the simple and right things in order to make marriage great. Jesus served us in the same manner. He gave his life for the church; for his flock. We, men, are to do the same for our family; day in and day out.
I will share this with my men’s group that meets early on Tuesdays.
Have a great day.
– John”
Now here is the amazing thing. The marriage conferences he heard me speak at were in February of 1994,1996, and 2004! This man took to heart what I said. He put it into practice all of these years, and what wonderful results he’s enjoyed because he took my wisdom and teaching seriously. I urge you dear friends, please, do the same!
Ecclesiastes 12:11
A wise teacher’s words spur students to action and emphasize important truths. The collected sayings (messages/articles) of the wise are like guidance from a shepherd.
