WHY DID THIS SURPRISE YOU?
Watching the unfolding events surrounding Charlie Kirk in the last 2 weeks, one thing stands out to me like a giant “elephant in the room.” Why did his murder surprise Christians? How could they not see that all around us we’re surrounded by people who hate our guts and wish us dead? How can Christians be so naïve—so blind to what’s been happening in the country the last 55 years? How could Christians not grasp what was happening, especially the last 15 years? The last 7 years? For years, these wicked people tried to destroy Rush Limbaugh’s life. They slandered and lied about him over and over again. They rejoiced in despicable glee when he died. This man spoke the truth on moral and social issues, exposing the lies of the Democrats and leftists to millions, five days a week, for decades—and they hated his guts.
Christians are the most hated, persecuted group in the entire world. More Christians are being killed around the world than at any other time in history. In the last 15 years, in Nigeria alone, 19,000 churches have been destroyed and 125,000 Christians slaughtered by Muslims. They hate and despise Christians. The Democrats and leftist in America hate and despise Christians. They want you dead. They want the world rid of you. They want your voice silenced, permanently. They may smile at you on the outside, but inside their heart is full of hatred and revulsion towards you. Both these groups are cults of death and destruction. Whatever they touch they corrupt and destroy.
They do not respect our voice or care about our rights. They hate our God. They despise our Savior Jesus Christ. They hate our morality. They hate the family, and the divine order God created for the family. They hate and despise children, as evidenced by the barbaric murder of 63 million aborted babies in America, and 73 million murdered by abortion every year, around the world! They love nothing more than getting their sinister hands on your children, and perverting their hearts and minds, turning them against their parents and the values and beliefs they’ve tried to instill in their precious, little lives. They delight in corrupting your children.
There has been a 5-alarm fire raging in this country since 1975. They are the arsonists! They pour gas on the fire that burns, every day. They want it all burned to the ground.
While the majority of the Christians go about their lives with their head in the sand, the Democrats and leftist are plotting to destroy you and your family. They have been carrying out their wicked scheme now for almost 55 years. Like their father, the devil, they will never relent, never back down, and never give up their hatred and desire for your death and destruction.
Just as Hamas, Islamic groups, and Islamic countries want the death and destruction of Israel and the Jewish people, so the Democrats, leftists, and Islamists want your death and destruction, with equal hatred and murderous rage.
Jesus warned us, “If they hated me, they will hate you!” He meant what he said. He knew the wicked heart of darkness and hatred these people have for the righteous, and for the God who commands them to repent.
We must, absolutely must, wake up from our apathy, our complacency, our nice little, comfortable lives and seek the Lord as never before. We must do all we can to mitigate their influence and impact on our children, waging war against them and their agenda in every way possible, as righteous citizens of our nation and the Kingdom of Christ.
We must commit ourselves to the purposes of God for us, as revealed in his Word. We must discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness, aflame with burning, righteous zeal and passionate love and devotion for Jesus Christ!
We must regain a genuine sense of urgency in our pursuit of God, and in carrying out His commands.
Listen—I rejoice that the Gospel rang out loud and clear at Charlie’s memorial service. I rejoice that tens of thousands of Christians united in this powerful moment, attending the service, with millions watching online. It was wonderful to hear men like Marco Rubio share the powerful message of our living hope, so courageously and clearly. It was amazing to hear 100,000 people sing, “How Great is our God.” But unless Christians — right now, in this unique moment in time — go home and change their actual habits and faith practices, both in private and in public life; unless parents change the way they live at home and raise their families; and unless fathers courageously begin to spiritually lead their families — then it is all for nothing. It is just one more fleeting, emotional moment in time. Then it is as the scripture says, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”
This is why the Holy Spirit says, “TODAY you must listen to His voice. Don’t harden your hearts against him as Israel did when they rebelled, when they tested God’s patience in the wilderness. There your ancestors tried my patience, even though they saw my miracles for forty years. So I was angry with them, and I said, ‘Their hearts always turn away from me–THEY REFUSE TO DO WHAT I TELL THEM.’” Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God. You must warn each other every day, as long as it is called “today,” so that none of you will be deceived by sin and hardened against God. For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. But never forget the warning: “Today you must listen to his voice. Don’t harden your hearts against him as Israel did when they rebelled.” –GOD, Hebrews 3:7-15
