“Over all my years of pastoring and shepherding people, I have found that most often the greatest need people have is to be encouraged. To have someone come along and believe in them, to speak words that lift their despair and discouragement. Life often makes us fainthearted and dispirited. The flesh and the world beat us down. The wise leader, friend, and parent, seeks to encourage and build up those around them. They are always looking for ways to give courage, confidence and hope and comfort to those that God brings their way. The wise leader uses their words to bless others and give them greater confidence in life and faith. They are the great encouragers.”
